Mabel is a 1968 RML (Routemaster Long) RML 2751 - ninth from the end of production which had started in 1956 after design and prototype from 1954.

Our RML finished service in 2004 after 36 years working, along with the majority of RMs & RMLs that were still in service. Just a few still operate in London now on the Route 15 (heritage route) However of the 2760 made over 1200 still remain worldwide in various disguises, which is testament to the build quality of this iconic British bus. It predecessor the RT was produced to a quantity of almost 7000 pre 1954 but with wooden frames rather than aluminium, few survivors exist.

RML 2751 has had an interesting life from it's creation in 1968. During it's time in service Mabel has worked mainly out of Croydon & Shepherds Bush depots, a brief history shown below.
